Get Out of Your Comfort Zone in Los Cabos
Los Cabos has always been a popular place to come and relax by the beach. The sun always shines, the water is warm and it’s relatively cheap. You find backpackers rubbing shoulders with those staying in the luxury vacation rentals in Los Cabos giving it a unique atmosphere. But not everyone wants to sit around the pool all day. Some of us want an adventure and to make Los Cabos an unforgettable trip. Here are 10 ways that you can do that.
1# Rent a Mountain Bike:
The towns are surrounded by rugged mountains that are easily accessible from both San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. You can go hiking or rent a mountain bike and cycle through the mountains. The scenery is magical and you can race down the sides of the hills. This is one of the biggest adrenaline activities in the area.
2# Go Diving:
Water sports are popular in this region. You can rent equipment when you arrive for a reasonable price. If you don’t know how to dive, you can also take lessons at a diving school. Expect to see hundreds of large, tropical fish swimming around beneath you. For those who are brave enough, it’s also possible to go shark diving.
3# Visit the Canyon Canopy Adventure:
This is a short distance from Los Cabos and you have the chance to zip line through the canyons. Some are higher and much longer than others with one extending more than 500 meters. You can enjoy the scenery in the canyons when you zip through. It’s also possible to get a buggy and drive through the nearby desert.
4# Go Quad Biking:
The surrounding area is full of desert and numerous trails that you can explore with a quad bike. If you don’t know how to ride one, there are several chances to learn. When you join a tour, you will be driving through the desert and exploring some of the trails. The terrain is difficult and you will have a great time trying to navigate your way around everything. This is one of my favorite things to do in Los Cabos. A typical tour lasts between three to four hours.
5# Get Out on the Water:
Some people like to surf the big waves that crash along the western coast. Others prefer to swim or snorkel. One of the most popular water sports here is kayaking. You can rent a kayak or join a kayaking tour that takes you around in a more controlled way, which is perfect for beginners. The water is full of tropical fish and it’s a great way to get out and see them. You can find instructors that will teach you how to kayak.
6# Experience Paddle Boarding:
If kayaking isn’t adventurous enough for you, there’s the option of trying the stand-up paddle boarding. With this sport, you stand on a board and then paddle to move along. This takes more skill and longer to get the hang of it. But, when you’ve mastered it, paddle boarding is a fun and rewarding experience.

7# Ride a Camel:
This may not be the most adventurous thing to do in the world yet it will almost certainly get you out of your comfort zone. You can join some tours that take you out into the desert where you have the chance to see and ride a camel. If you have never done this before, it can be an intimidating experience. The camels are large, smelly, and make a lot of noise. But if you can overcome this, it will be something unforgettable.
8# Bungee Jump from a Glass Bottom Gondola:
Bungee jumping is on the bucket list of a lot of people, but most don’t have the courage to follow through, especially if it’s their first time. When you’re in Los Cabos, you can try to overcome this fear and do something that’s unique to the area. Only here can you do a bungee jump in the picturesque canyons from a glass-bottomed gondola. Others in the country are from a crane or suspended from something. The surroundings are beautiful and you can also rent their GoPro cameras to capture the unforgettable moment.
9# Experience a Hydro Flyboard:
A hydro Flyboard is a board that’s powered by jets of water and gives you the sensation that you’re on a jet pack. You strap the jets on and stand on the board whilst the water is ejected out below you. The goal is to stay up straight and keep your balance. This is a fun and unique sport to do and you can experience it for yourself at Los Cabos Marina.
10# Explore the Trails:
The desert and mountains are full of trails that you can hike, cycle, or ride a quad bike along. This is a great way to get off the beaten path and experience nature at its fullest. But, before you go make sure you tell someone what you’re planning to do and be wary of wildlife, including spiders and scorpions.
The Takeaway Message:
As you can see, Los Cabos is a place for relaxing and getting the adrenaline pumping. You may want to get out of your comfort zone a little by taking a tour and riding camels or going all the way and doing your first bungee jump. Travel is all about new experiences and it’s one of the best ways to make a great trip unforgettable. So, make your trip to Los Cabos an unforgettable one.
